It was finally begining to look a lot like Christmas...

It's been over a month since I first posted and a lot has happened. The two biggest of course were Christmas and Holden's 3rd birthday. Living in Colorado we did have a few snow days which Holden absolutely loves the snow. Franz and I are proud to also say that Holden is 100% potty trained and before his 3rd birthday. He is such a big boy and we could not be more proud of him! This blog is short but I hope to remember to keep up with this and make a post with a picture everyday.

SNOW DAY! Luckily for Christmas Holden got tons of snow gear and we were able to go out and play in the snow. He built a tiny snowman and called him Rocky (there were rocks in the snow). We are hoping to get Holden on some ski's this season or the next, depending on when Franz can get the hang of skiing.

Holden's 3rd Birthday...

Here's the final project. Franz and I took him for a quick ride around the neighborhood. Franz had to run along with Holden with the kill switch in his hand in case he went a little too fast. I was running behind then trying to catch it all on camera. Needless to say we were both exhausted by the end of the ride.
Holden tends to be a little shy, here he is hiding when every body started singing Happy Birthday to him.
Mimi and Papa got him a helmet and goggles for his birthday to use for his ATV. He was told he could only get on his ATV when he was wearing his helmet. We hope that he follows these rules.
Holden's 3rd birthday was a success. We had lots of family and a few friends show up. Holden got everything he wanted and more. The big present was a ATV that the Jones' gave to us. It was built in 1984 and a little beat up. But Franz was able to restore it just in time for his birthday. We are excited to take him camping and let him learn to ride in the Colorado Mountains.

Christmas...

For anyone who knows me, they know that Christmas is one of my least favorite holidays, until three years ago. It's amazing how much having children can change your attitude about everything. Now I can hardly sleep Christmas Eve because I can not wait to see the look on his face. Mimi and Papa (Brenda and Byran) come over to share the moment. I am very thankful that Franz has a family oriented family and that I can call them my own. Holden got a Spiderman bike from my dad this year. I hope within the year the training wheels will be off and I will be out of breath chasing him down the road.

The Adventures of cutting down a Christmas tree...

Holden was excited to pick out our Christmas tree, this was him before we got waist deep into the snow.

This year we decided to cut down our own Christmas tree. So we traveled to the Grand Mesa and did a very small hike in search of the perfect Christmas tree. It did not take long. Franz was in shorts and Holden got snow in his pants, needless to say the boys were ready to go.

I have always enjoyed doing photography, so of course I love to take our Christmas picture. Every year it's something different. Holden does not like to sit still very long. I set the camera on a self timer and run over to Franz and Holden and it always gets a smile out of Holden. I feel taking our picture captures more of our family character then trapped in a studio with someone squeaking a toy at us.

On our way down from the Grand Mesa, Holden decided that he needed to go wee-wee. So we pulled over and I was able to catch the moment. The grin on his face says it all. He has the most amazing personality. The joys of potty training!!!!

Decided I needed to become a blogger...

It seems that everyday I learn something different. Whether it be how to handle another kid being a bully to my baby or how to handle these amazing tantrums that Holden seems to be so good at. So what better way than to share my everyday learning's than on a blog.

But as anyone parent knows there are those moments that you would not change for anything and those are the memories I will share with you and of course those moments that make you wonder where in the world did they learn that from.
